Tavakoli came to Denmark from Iran in 1991. She is the spokeswoman for the Free Iran organization and author of the book ” Public Secrets of Islam”. She is a liberal humanist and feminist activist and has expressed herself particularly critical of the rise of Islam in Western countries.
In this book, the author writes about the challenges of critical and honest conversation about Islam, she also describes the relationship between Islam and Muslims.
She introduces the concepts of mainstream Islam, Islamism and jihadism.
